Evening Primrose Oil on Face and Hair

Made through the process of cold-pressing the seeds of the evening primrose plant, evening primrose seed oil is a nutrient-rich, beneficial oil that can be used cosmetically for skin and hair. The reason for evening primrose oil on face is thought to be helpful is because some people thought that using evening primrose oil influences the hormones in females. Whether that statement is true or not, evening primrose oil is still a great oil to moisturize and brighten dry, dull skin.

Many use evening primrose oil on face because of its high content of essential fatty acids, such as gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), that gives the oil its moisturizing capabilities. The best way to take advantage of this is by using the oil as an occlusive layer in your skincare routine to seal in moisture and your other skincare products. The fatty acids make the oil relatively thicker, but it holds in hydration better to maintain the plumpness and glow of your skin. We recommend this method to be done at night, since the oil is heavier and would not feel comfortable during the day. Use evening primrose oil on face straight out of the bottle, mixed with your moisturizer, or blended with other carrier oils to make a facial oil!
